Im kinda new to the scene here, so will someone explain how the "choosing of your Empire" works?
Lets say for example, I choose VS (i heard it was one on another thread), am I stuck with VS or can I switch Empires anytime? |

I'm not sure everything you wanted to know about "What are the 'Empires' and whats the difference" has been completely covered by the guys above so I'll just say everything I know, Validuz ^_^ This reply's probably a little late, so sorry if you already know all of it.
The three available Empires are ... The blue and yellow, New Conglomerate Example The black and red, Terran Republic Example The purple, Vanu Sovereignty Example The three empires/teams all share the same types of armor and implants and they will all have access to a "common pool" of weapons and vehicles which they can use in combat. The main differences between them are the special weapons (Examples sorted by Empire) and vehicles (we don't have info on all of these yet) that are only given to you when you are part of that empire (unless you steal them from other people ). The special abilities of the Heavy (MAX) Armor suits will also change depending on your empire. It is important to pick the right empire because when you start a game on a certain server, all four of the characters you are given on it must all be in the same empire. If you want to speak to your friends in game you will have to sign up to the same empire as them because you are only allowed to communicate with people who are on your side. There will be an option to have all your characters leave the empire which you have chosen, when you do this you will defect and join the side who is either considerably losing the battle or has the least members (depending on what the devs finally do with the Defect option). Either way I can't see anyone being able to switch one of their old characters to a winning side and I think there will be a limit on how many times you can defect. As for testing out all the empires, it looks like we're all going to be forced to start a character in each empire and make our final decision after that. Some people have already decided on their empire just from the appearance and from what we know about their weapons and style.

yah they all gotta be in same empire (thank god, this prevents peeps from like going to one empire, dropping off a vital component in the middle of no where, logging on to other character and getting EXP for it, MAJOR cheat right there if they weren't all in same empire)
