Unhappy performance problem after patch

I have a problem with a severe drop in fps after the download of the Friday(02/06) patch. the game has been running smoothly on my Dell Dimension 8300 (specs: P4 2.8; 512MB RAM; 128 MB video card). I have even been running it with antivirus & firewall programs enabled with no problem. Now, I can barely play the game with the amount of stuttering and pausing. I received a responce in the general forum requesting me to enable animation culling since it was turned off after the patch. However, after doing this, there was no improvement. I know since this is a on-line game, I can't disable the patch. I hope someone can come up with some solutions. I also forgot to mention that I had added no new software, programs, or peripherals prior to the problem arising after the patch installation.

Thanks

Ok i just did a whole bunch of things to my system because Ps stoped working, but in the procces i did something to my FPS try these things

try this: http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/p...ML/009163.html

what is listed on this site(CacheMan is very usefull)

http://home.comcast.net/~psconfigs/

also try reinstalling DX9b, and your drivers

also can you elaborate on your specs, a 128mb vidoe card means nothing at all, That is why i hate dell they sell stuff on numbers that don't matter.

BTW, even though i have not added it to the rules Dell is a forbiden word(unless your saying your sytem specs)

Thanks for your reply, I will try some of the options in those threads. The only thing is that the hardware components of my system cannot be the problem because the game ran smoothly for over 3 weeks before the patch was added. Somewhere in my game configuration, there was a change initiated on that day of the patch and I'm not sure where it's located. Any ideas from someone who had a similar problem after the latest patch and resolved the excessive low fps and jittery graphics.

Rbstr, I think he wants to turn Anim Culling back on. It's off by default now.

If you have FPS issues, turn Animation Culling on. If you have jerky animations but decent FPS, leave it off.
