Please help clear this up for me..

I'm just so FREAKIN lost on the Beta, and the release date. The recent review (which i take it, came from Europe somewhere) Stated Feb 6 for PS release..Yeah..I thought it was around..March - Mayish. Which while it sucks, is better than Q2, even though it is on the brink of it. Personaly, I've been waiting too long for this game. Everyday I come home from school, and I check 3 PS websites :frown: makes me sad sometimes. Though...I admit that I'm prolly not as bad as some.

Seeing as how my main topic went to bufu, lets get on track. Can someone give me a clear answer to beta? 2 weeks..too short..lost..though..train..agh!

Please help.

No one really knows when the external beta will start, the only thing we know for sure is that it will not start until it's ready, but that the developers are still aiming for a march release.

from memory:

1. release date is mid march (although likely pushed back to april).
2. closed public beta is coming up very soon, but you're not in it. (they closed beta selection long time ago).
3. as far as i heard, no open public beta.

so basically if you want to play the game, you'll have to wait until mid march or early april when the game is released. does this sound right? correct me Hamma.

I heard that there's going to be an open beta, but I don't know when.

Exsternal beta is when they send out beta invites to people and i think your'll find there'll HAVE TO have an open beta to test the strain on the servers and make sure they can cope with the bulk.If there's no public beta COUGH!!...wwiionline COUGH!! then your'll run into problems when the game get's released and have to patch it big time hehe

i'm fairly certain that you are only eligible for open beta if you signed up during beta signup week (nov1-8).

those that signed up should remember a little selection they had to make.

Which phase of Beta are you interested in applying for?

[ ] Closed Beta
[ ] Open Beta

it said right after that that "if not selected for closed beta, you will automatically be entered for a chance to be in open", or something to that extent.

i highly doubt "open" beta will be just something anyone can download from fileplanet. it's called "open" b/c they will have many more users than closed and it is only done as a stress test and to verify that the gameplay balancing done during closed were the right decisions.

but anyway, I would not trust Febuary.. The most official thing we have is "End of 1st Qtr" which is late March.

u can't really trust all those magazines, all they can do i guess like us. All the devs said was Q1 2003

I do believe the devs said NO later than Q1. As in it won't get pushed back to April. According to SJ, everything is on schedule as it is. I personally doubt it will get pushed any later than march 31st. But I doubt it will be any earlier than mid-march either
