Look at recent video game movies like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Or comic book movies spider-man and xmen. All good, or at least decent movies that represent their respective game/comic book very well, and made a nice haul in the process. I think people in hollywood have finally figured out that the only way to get a good return on these movies is to make it GOOD. Or at least not suck

Ok, I'm feeling a little beter now. SpiderMan and X-Men were good. Resident Evil was fun to watch too. There may be hope yet.

Comic book = could be good. Video game = trash (I thought the resident evil movie and the tomb raider movie were crap).

Comic book or Video game movies aren't by nature crap, it just depends on the director. X-men, RE, Spider-man and of course Blade were all great movies, DD looks damn good as well, The hulk i'm not so sure, only thing i saw in preview his him against tanks and soldiers, not so good.

And btw what exactly is the link about? It just says "loading please wait" and then brings up a bunch of news but nothing about Metroid. I assume by the posts that it's about a Metroid movie, correct?

correct dio.

This is going to be a good movie and this is why:

1. IF this is based on the earlier metroid games, which have absolutely no storyline, it is easy to make up stuff and keep everything in check with the other Metroid games
2. IF NOT, then look how good Metroid Prime turned out.(Prime takes place between metroid 1&2)
3. The producers also produced Final Destination AND American Pie, so they MUST see something good in the script (which we know absolutely NOTHING about yet)

There's not much to worry about

They could have Van Dam play every character in the movie. The fighting scenes would be intense. And by intense, I mean more pathetic than Wil Wheaton's current acting career.
