And offer to help her in any way. Whenever one of my friends are having troubles, it always amazes me how grateful they are when I offer them a hand. The most important thing, however, is to listen to her. Sometimes, when you're having problems, you just have to spew out everything that's on your mind, everything that's troubling you and everything that you're afraid will trouble you. Then you'll feel compelled to say everything that's in between, and then everything that doesn't have to deal with anything at all. And when you have someone who can geniunely listen to all that and understand you without thinking that you must be a looney, that can mean everything in the world.
Having the feeling that someone now knows what you know can be the most comforting thing in the world.
