I'm curious about how you retain BEP/CEP. Does it automatically store so that if yyou die and respawn you still have it? Or do you have to stop and "save" it somewhere...

I haven't seen any posts describing this.

my bet

Saved automaticly periodically, saved when you zone from one continent to the other and saved whenver you die. Also saved if you go LD and when you log out.

you don't "zone" from continent to continent, but I bet it will be automatically saved every time you get expirience. The worst feeling would be to lose a days worth of expirience because you died. It looks like you die fairly easy (compared to games like EQ) so you would only get about 3 kills or so before you would die (if you're good)

You zone from continent to continent. There is a loading time between the time you enter the gate and the time you pop out, thats a zone time. And a exp penalty in a fps? thats to harsh and it would slow down the game.

i remember reading a dev saying there is a load time between the contitnent when he explained the texture system.

I heard that going through a warp gate was instant, but I've been gone for a while, maybe things have changed.

He dosn't directly say that there is a load time between continent but he says they load the conitnents textures when they load the continent and do a texture flush between contienents.. doing a texture flush whit no load time should be close to impossible .

THere is/was a load screen between continents.

As for BEP's and CEP's I think they collect in real time.

Aye, when you get BEP or CEP its saved the instant you get it, so no wat to lose it. The Saving message is saving your settings periodically, so if you have the message box in your upper left corner it will be there when you next log on, It is also saving your friends and ignore list, and other such settings like text color and chat filters. It is saving it in your planetside client file, on your side of the game, not on the servers. My question is if they will have a custom UI like everquest does now, and if you will indeed be able to move around the icons on the HUD.

The message will proably look like

Planetside Saved.

if there is a message at all.
