Saitek X45 and Planetside

I realise this is *another* joystick related question, but bear with me...

Has anyone been able to make the saitek x45 work smoothly with Planetside. Unlike BF1942 et al PS recognises the throttle, but the stick handling is a joke, fiddling with the sensitivity doesn't seem to do the trick and half the buttons can't be assigned. Currently using a mouse and the throttle for my airborne antics, but tbh I'd much rather be using the stick.

Cheers,

IIRC Planetsdie does not yet offer full joystick support... they will be optimizing it in the future... until then use your mouse for steering and keyboard for throtle (its what I find the easiest without a joystick...)

I have the X45 and love it for flight sims.

However, in PS I prefer to use (when flying), the mouse in lieu of the stick, but keep the throttle. It gets me more precision. When driving a ground vehicle, I use the keyboard alone. The X45 has some wierd interference which overrides the keyboard, resulting in the thing stopping if the throttle's at zero, even if I press Q, or resulting in it going at full speed after stopping.

I've dropped my air certs, so it's not a problem: I just don't use it.

The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.
