Author Topic: The Zoom Implant - What's it for?
bonniedundee Station Member Registered: Jul 2000 posted 02-07-2003 04:50 AM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AFAIK: Facts: The zoom implant gives 4x, 8x, and 12x zoom. The Cycler has a 4x zoom. The Bolt Driver has an 8x zoom. Weapon projectiles disappear when they hit their maximum range. Thoughts: Only snipers will want the zoom implant, and possibly scouts. However, since snipers and scouts will most likely want the Bolt-Driver, the zoom implant is mostly made redundant by the weapons integral scope. Final Thoughts: What's it for? Double posting, 2 times the Dev Love BrileyPS Station Admin Registered: Apr 2001 posted 02-07-2003 07:51 AM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonniedundee, the zoom implant is one that I always make sure that I have as an implant. It can be used as a scouting tactic, since you can zoom past the range of most of your teamates if they don't have it implemented. Plenty of times I have zoomed in on what we thought was a tree, to find out its 15 nc soldiers, holding out there arms like limbs, pretending to be a one. Hehe jk, but it is a usefull implant, I suggest that you at least give it a try. Station Admin Registered: Sep 2001 posted 02-07-2003 08:44 AM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I use it a lot when running as a MAX. They don't get much more than 2x zoom most of the time, so the implant is very useful. I also tend to grab it when running around as a base defender or scout. I can run faster without a weapon equipped and range magnifier works better than everything except a Bolt Driver anyway. Just some thoughts. http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/p...ML/002446.html

Hmmm, seems like a potentially very cool feature. |

Well..
In CS, when the knife was equipped, or any weapon for that matter, the game thought you had only THAT weapon, in stock. It was an error, it was how it was programmed. In PS, all your great is accounted for, but this is where realisim takes place.. Say in real like your holding a shotgun, or a big ol' minigun in your hands, run 25 feet, now, think of throwing that on your back and running those 25 feet again. You'll run much faster because both hands will be free. You won't run faster than someone without a minigun at all, but you'll run faster. (If or if not the Minigun can be strapped onto your back was not used in this demonstration. ) CS was just screwed, it thought whatever weapon you had was the only weapon you had, and 1.4 was said to have fixed that, WHICH it didn't... PS is not like that at all, PS owns CS in every aspect except for simplicity which is what keeps CS alive today. Oh and legalized hacking brought to you by CAL. |
