Yep, the two best animals at escape are octopi and orangutans. The monkeys are damn smart, they're better at lockpicking than some locksmiths are. And they'll store little bits of metal that they can use in that area between the upper gum and the upper lip, inside the mouth. That's what zoo people use to test whether the lock is good enough to keep an animal from somehow escaping.
Octopi are best discouraged from escape with sandpaper around any areas they could escape from, and I mean any cracks that they could push open, because they're suprisingly strong, able to push many, many times their own body weight and can get really small because they don't have skeletons, but their skin is very tender.
