Well, either way the BFRs are brought into the team aspect of the game with this patch. The alternatives become (1) to blend Eagle-class BFRs with other forces or (2) deploy the Sentinel-class mech, which requires cooperation by design. So, good choice.

I agree, this will prove once and for all that BFR's do require skill to be used effectively. Finally, people will stop saying "BFR noob."

It's hard to say without knowing the exact values. They're a bit faster than before, but their armor is weaker and the pilot guns are weaker. Whether or not the gunner weaponry has been upped enough to make the gunners as powerful as before is left to be seen.

However, one thing that some people may not have noticed is that the run speed has "been reduced for all." All gunners or all BFRs, I don't know, but the transit mode is the one thing that let's BFRs have the lifespan they do. Of all the changes, the lower run speed might be the most influential to the gunner variant. If the flights have reduced run speed too, well, Allah have mercy on them if they get into a serious combat altercation.
