[Patch] America's Army 2.7 (Overmatch)

The long awaited, and dare I say, the most anticipated update to America's Army is being released tomorrow, September 14th officially. Although ArmyTimes.com gained exclusive rights to host the file for download TODAY, a day before the official release date.

Among the new things coming. A new radar system, or SAI (Situational Awareness Indicator) which when you or a teammate engage an enemy, they show up on the minimap which you can toggle into a full screen map. It also shows all objectives, friendlies, etc..

-New uniforms, updated to reflect new US Army uniforms.
-New weapons
-New maps
-DRIVEABLE vehicles.

Way too much stuff to list. You can see a few 2.7 Beta video's on YouTube with a simple search of AA 2.7

Hmmm, I'm waiting till WoW:BC comes out, maybe I'll try this game again. When does this patch come out?

Still PLENTY of people playing. Always plenty of servers online, plenty of people playing. There are a bunch of great teams, TWL ladder for AA is still running strong. It's a great game if you enjoy strategy FPS type sims (Operation Flashpoint, SWAT 2/3/4, Raven Shield)

im d/ling this right now. But this is just a patch? Is there something else I should be d/ling before this update? Or can I just d/l and install this update and start playing?

No, it's a new client alltogether. It's not an update to anything. Delete 2.6 or whatever version you were playing, it's now useless.

Technically it's not OFP2, but simply "Game 2." In the nearer future, Armed Assault is coming, which is based on the OFP engine but updated. Still looks sexy.
