Lock-Up at Connecting

I just recently decided to try Planetside again, and have just finished installing. When it starts "connecting," the game locks up and I have to reboot my computer.

Now, I consider myself fairly computer competent, and have tried all the usual tricks (my drivers are updated + official, definately not a memory problem, disabled acceleration once, no luck)

Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GS if that helps any.

I've got the same problem. Tried it three time. The status bar during 'logging in' stops at about 1/3 complete. The last time I left it alone for a couple hours...still locked on my return. What up?

This is probably a firewall issue... at least it was with me. My game would freeze everytime I tried to connect. Once I shut down Zone Alarm (my firewall program), however, I was able to connect just fine.

So first off, make sure you're not in conflict with whatever firewall you're using....
