Post IGN on Core Combat

IGN has given a short article on Planetside and Core Combat. Although there is no new information, it does give an opinion of the game which I think is very interesting. Here's a blurb: <blockquote>Of course, adding new areas is cool and all, but this isn't EverQuest. If you're going to add new stuff like this, there has to be a purpose. So in this case, the purpose comes from a unique energy that can be taken from the caves and transported for your faction's use at the surface. Each side will have to first create a module container at one of the bases on the surface. After that's complete, they'll have to escort this module down into the caves and bring it to a point in the cavern that can fill the module with energy. If that manages to happen, the module can then be escorted back to the surface and into the base it originated from for use. The best part is that the entire time, each enemy faction will be able to see the module moving around on the map. There is no hiding or trickery in this case. Think ambushes, escort duty, feints, and scouting and you've begun to realize how these operations will have to be organized. </UL>
