Post Action Vault Q&A

As the news keeps erupting like a Volcano, Action Vault has up a new Q&A with Dallas Dickinson regarding Core Combat:
Action Vault: To begin with the basics, how would you describe the combat system in PlanetSide? What are its key features, and where does it stand on a scale from highly tactical action at one end to arcade-style at the other?

Dallas Dickinson: PlanetSide is a tactical first-person action game. What this means is that the actual gameplay is very much like a standard first-person shooter (arcade-style), but the planning and strategy BEFORE you get to a battle can be pretty complex (tactical-style).

The great thing is that you can play PlanetSide either way and have a great time. Sometimes, I just get into a squad and load up in Heavy Assault gear. I'll charge into battle and see how many enemies I can pick off. Other times, I'll play as an Infiltrator in my stealth suit, and play a slow, quiet tactical game.
