SporkfirePS has put out a call for test server feedback regarding the Camera Shake element now on test. Here's what Spork says:
Today, those who participated in our Public Playtest informed us that enabling certain, er, geological phenomena also enabled camera shake for weapon use and other events (such incoming Orbital Strikes). We realize that this is fairly substantial change to the overall gameplay and so we didn't want to let the change go live without soliciting feedback from our customers.
Tomorrow (tentatively scheduled for 12 PM Pacific - Watch for ProfChaos' post to get the exact details), we will be testing another version of 2.9 specifically to test the community's reception of this change. We invite as many people as possible to participate in this playtest to experience the camera shake for yourself and let us know if it is something you would like in the game. We will be monitoring feedback on the change and adjust our plans based upon it.
Why camera shake is desired: Camera shake was originally intended to be a part of PlanetSide, as it does quite a bit to add a sense of motion and realism to the experience. It will not affect the recoil or cone of fire properties on your weapons - those will remain untouched if the camera shake goes live.
Please participate tomorrow and let us know whether you like this change. It is very important that we hear as many voices as possible on the subject.
So, be sure to turn out for tomorrow's playtest and help them test this new game element.
