ProfessorChaos has released the following information regarding a playtest today.

There will be a playtest on the Public Test Server -- build 2.9.7.

Friday -- 8-6-2004 -- 3:00p Los Angeles / 6:00p New York / 11:00p London

Continent: Cyssor

Home Bases

• New Conglomerate: Pamba, Shango, Orisha
• Terran Republic: Mukuru, Nzame, Tore, LezaVanu Sovereignty: Wele, Aja, Bomazi, Chuku, Ekera

(These were chosen so that each empire would have links to 2 sub-capitols)

Modules

• NC: Pain, Equipment, Vehicle @ Orisha
• TR: Pain, Equipment, Vehicle @ LezaVS: Pain, Equipment, Vehicle @ Wele

Rules

• Do not hack any empire home bases. Any home base that is hacked, generator dropped or any other status change will be restored immediately.

Objective

• Capture and hold the Capitol, Gunuku

Duration

• 1.5 hours

Update: From Sporkfire:

Public Test Server has an updated version of the 2.9 series on it to fix some issues with that build. As such, Battle Islands are not in this release. Also, this release cannot be patched into Version 2.10 for a rollback. You will need to create a new directory copied from the Live PlanetSide directory to download this Public Test update.

• Drop Pods are now invulnerable during their drop sequence. This is done because taking damage from certain events would cause the Drop Pod to drop through the world.
