Post Global Lattice and Map Preview

Based upon suggestions by the community and developed further by the PS team, the map and lattice connections are being revisited. Sporkfire writes:
All backstory reasons aside, the global lattice network can probably use a bit of a shake up to keep the strategy of conflict in PlanetSide fresh and interesting. Our plan for January is to introduce story and a corresponding event that will culminate in a realignment of this lattice structure. We want to give a preview of this alignment to solicit feedback and fuel discussion about the larger strategic aspect of the game.

Design Goals:

Before we dig into the proposed layout, lets review the goals for this design.

Create a layout that encourages conflict
Attempt to set things up such that fighting will not usually fall into the same continents repeatedly.
Have the structure ready to use scripting elements for future win conditions. For example, set things up where taking certain planets will have benefits that equate to a win and give reason for the opposing empires to defend or take back those planets.
Use as many warpgates as possible. Inactive warpgates = bad.
Align things so that the Core Combat caves play a strategic role in movement throughout the system. To address zero basing conditions (when an Empire has no continents) utilize 2 home continents that an Empire can always connect to.
