Butt Stroking

I'm stroking my butt right now. And in about 12min I'm headed to bed where I plan to stroke my girlfriend's butt. Stroking's not all I plan to do to it.

It definitely shouldn't be some insta kill thing. More along the lines of, "Hello! I am now in your personal space!" Whatever that means.

I don't really like the idea of a stun, nobody likes not being able to control their character. A push-back might work as long as it doesn't push really far. It'd probably be fun to sneak up behind people shoot them a little, then bash them off a really high ledge or something and watch them fell to their death. Even sounds merit worthy.

I am all for or hit melée kills, but it becomes an issue with cloakers in game.

I don't think it would be an issue, there already is melee in the game. With melee booster, you can one shot cloakers in secondary mode and two shot agile. I see the buttstroke as a more of a compliment than a an actual viable fighting method.

My question to you, which is better? hit em with the butt of your rife or shoot him? Unless the guy has a melee weapon yer better of pulling the trigger and waiting for him to turn into a pink mist.

A melee wouldn't be bad as a light nockback, just enough to get a guy with a knife out of yer face and a bullet in his head if yer quick, anything more is useless, may need a knife buff to counter this mechanic, but meh, not much point in it otherwise.

All i have to say is no halo style shoot shield of then melee to win fighting or ima QQ so hard you wont have a butt to stroke

In my day, we trained to use our rifles as melee weapons. This was during the bayonet-training phase. We practiced with unsheathed bayonets within striking distance of other soldiers, to reinforce precision. And then we put on helmets and pads, and busted out the pugil sticks, to practice what we learned. I'm told they no longer teach that, which is a goddamn shame.

The reasons you would use a butt-stroke to the head:

1) Rules of Engagement prohibit lethal force (not an issue in Planetside)
2) You are unable to bring your weapon to bear and engage with rifle fire (not an issue in Planetside)
3) You are out of ammo but still fit to fight

A soldier with a rifle butt probably won't kill you with one hit unless you're weak and feeble. It shouldn't translate over into a game as a one-shot kill.

Combat history has shown there are hundreds of documented cases where a warrior engaged the enemy using his rifle as a weapon. I've heard a story about a guy who literally threw his Colt .45 sidearm (that's a pistol, for the competely fucking oblivious) at a charging enemy, then drew his knife to finished the stunned fucker off. I've heard at least one story about a guy who hurled his broken rifle, complete with bayonet, at the enemy with enough venomous anger, snarling rage, and fury as to convince the lot of them to find some other place to attack. I know of one case where a rifle was used against an enemy in Afghanistan. I believe there's a scene in some virus movie with a soldier applying the butt-stroke. Might be Outbreak?

It's hard to say exactly how powerful it should be without playing around with it I feel. I'm thinking, approximately as long to buttstroke someone to death as to shoot them, but it provides benefits to using. It would be a more guaranteed hit in super close range. It wouldn't cost any ammo. It's another way to make someone look bad with your sk1llz. I think the only balance issues it would have are about having push-back or not.

I tend to agree with some of the posters here, sadly companies often go far to overboard with melee stuff. Instagib punches and shit.. stupid.

Or my favorite, when you shoot someone in the chest then they stab you to death.
