edit: correction again. This is NOT the devchat. THis seems to be a QnA session somewhat after the community access.

PSU was definitely there though. At the end of the Q&A, Matt said he'd answer all the PSU questions that were left unanswered by the end of FanFaire. I hope we hold him to that.

Fedora guy is my favorite--his statement about giving back to the players is something that I wasn't really convinced on until I heard him state it. I'm still aprehensive, especially given the track record, but I'm willing to give them the chance to redeem that bad reputation (and from what I hear, many others are as well.)

I would be really happy if they released the game in the same way the first was released, and if their three-year plan is something they're very serious about, then releasing it in that sort of "original" or rather "plain" state would be the best. I say this because then the community could really shape it into something agreeable by a majority. This game is going to be held to a much higher standard than the first, because not only does it have to beat the original's initial affect, but it has to sustain everyone's hopes and wishes that have built up in the past eight years.

I know they've stated they plan to make use of certain infrastructures, statistics, etc. to shape the game into something they believe we'll enjoy. I believe there's a difference between what people do and what they process as something they enjoy. Ideally, community members who are helpful--who are veterans, would have heavier weight attached to their opinions. It's dangerous, but I believe a major problem in the first was the consistent complaints about certain weaponry and the subsequent balance changes that seemed to never sate the naysayers. The truth is that you will always hear more complaints than praise.

So:
1.) Keep it plain for release; enough that you overcome Planetside's shock and awe, but plain enough so that we, the community, have more weight on game changing decisions being made.
2.) Listen to people who have a track record of being helpful, and useful to the community.
3.) Don't get caught up in the bickering between the naysayers and complainers.

I also wanted to touch on: Not enough information on hacking and infiltration. I think that hacking needs WAY more depth and WAY more "serious" concentration. Puzzle games? Not like bioshock. I think I have a post around here somewhere about hacking. It's worth a read I believe =P.

T-Ray is a great guy, I really loved his answer there as well.

I was indeed in that room, there was a press event after the community address.
