Sure, ads that are run-down blasted signboards with no animations and no sound. That would sell stuff better than "Hi, I'm a half-man, half field mouse" or whatever ads, I think.

Gotta admit the DMX was a nice touch though right?
Apologies for if what I said just wound up in anyway as well.

The problem with written text is that, bar use of emoticons, a large part of your body language is missed out. And it's this missing part that actually makes up a lot of how we communicate, and emoticons just don't cut the mustard. (So yeah, not a fan of text generally speaking)

And yes, the I found the DMX quite amusing.

As for the reason of our disagreement, don't be disheartened if people don't agree with you. The vocal majority rarely represent the silent majority, and besides I've seen enough to know that there are others here that agree with you (if not as vehemently!).

Keep it constructive and I'm sure you'll win others round.

It saddens me that you think the game will do so poorly with F2P that ads will be necessary. I didn't personally mind them in PS1, other than that they broke the immersion a little bit. It did seem to cheapen the game. If ads are necessary I think they should rethink their payment model.

They should be like youtube front page ads, quiet until you walk up to them and press a button and then it's all like "OLD SPICE! I'M ON A HORSE!"

Lets make a shot into the blue here:

We know there are urban areas, means stuff like citys. Based on that, we can assume that the war broke out somewhat late, means the TR were all over auraxis for quite a while, having a somewhat peacful colony. Now, the thing with citys is that you have ads everywhere. Billboards, Big TVs, stuff like that. Its already there, so why not just damage the stuff a bit to let it fit into the war theme, and put ads on there. It would fit right into the game, and still produce cash.

If ads means no pay-to-win then a resounding hell yes from me. If it makes the gameplay better give me ads on my splash screen, launcher, and respawn menu, ads on billboards in cities and insets while riding as a passenger in a vehicle.

Maybe you guys use the HART building differently than I do, but when I go into the HART building I'm usually re-certing, changing up my favorites, boarding the HART, or redoing my implants, not dicking around staring at the walls looking for advertisements. The only times i'd be in the HART building with nothing to do is if i'm waiting for the HART timer, at which point i usually alt-tab and check facebook/psu for however long i have to wait.

And if you're as 'bombarded with ads' as you claim to be, you ought to have learned to ignore them.

Hey guess what, they've stated several times they aren't putting a pay-to-win model in the game.

People's definitions of what constitutes "pay to win" are demonstrably different though, and Smed's recent comments will surely have caused some people to cry foul.
