Yeah, I'm getting really tired of the hell-of-a-lot bad ass garbage that boy spews. It makes me want to smack him in the head and not play the game. Dave Georgeson doesn't talk like this and unsurprisingly, I very much enjoy listening to him speak and reading his comment, which in turns makes me excited about Everquest II (heck, I even played Everquest for the first time in almost a decade recently!).
Swearing is unprofessional. Boasting about knocking back energy drinks is childish. Or, is this the demographic being targeted, the immature twenty somethings and the "mouth breathing horde"? "Narf! I killjoo! Durp"... It sure is putting me off caring about Planetside 2, I can tell you that. My friendly advice: Can it or enjoy a repeat of the niche market "success" that was Planetside. |

Yes. Swearing is very cool. However, I think you make a good point that dropping f-bombs is not very professional. Then again, the guy is a director and not a PR rep. I want the director to have edge and flair. The safe corporate-speak should come from the marketing people.

It shows that he is very excited he is working on the project. It comes down to its nice to have Devs that are young and over excited about the project they are working on.
Times have changed. I think its pretty cool, I can relate to the devs at a more personal level. They are not marketing the game towards older people. I believe more in the 17-30 range. And believe me, everyone I know swears at some point. (even my parents)

Since when has the word 'hell' been a swear word?
Using the phrase 'hell-of-a-lot' is even less offensive than using the word 'hell' in most contexts. He's just excited, thats all. I'm glad to see some enthusiasm from the team. |

I don't recall Higby swearing at all? Still, I'd rather Higby feel he can be himself when communicating with us, instead of having to moderate himself to stop the prudish among the PS2 fan-base from making silly threads like this.

Why the fuck would you think swearing aint fucking cool? This shit is awesome man.
Although I usually use it as filler in my speech or to express excitement. They're just words, learn and understand them. ******* are obnoxious people on motorcycles. Languages change over time. tl;dr Haters gonna hate. |
