Current Use of PS1 Subscription

I wonder if anyone at SOE can chime in...

I'm curious if any of my current PS1 subscription is being used to help development of PS2? (Since it's obvious the subscription income isn't being used to develop PS1 any further)

In fact, I am very supportive of a portion PS1 sub going towards development of PS2. However if the current subscriptions to PS1 are basically just paying for the server costs/maintenance then I can find a better use of those entertainment dollars.

Well I can't speak for what the money is going towards, but one thing that you personally are getting out of the subscription is first dibs on beta access.

I'm currently playing Planetside a little bit off and on with the free 45 days that I never used, but since I'm not playing it that often, I'm debating whether I will resubscribe just to get into the beta quicker.

That's partially my point. The PS1 subscription price is steep, too high to justify the small amount of time I play PS1 anymore and actually too high just for a chance to get into PS2 beta quicker.

I was hoping to find out a little more about how it's used by SOE.

I doubt there is a specified usage other then just going into a account somewhere to pay the bills. I don't see this game bringing in enough revenue to have a specific use for unfortunately.
