hrm im starting to think the gun in that picture isnot a cycler, or atleast not the base one, its much more badass. they have talked about a heavy cycler or it could be a TR shotgun, there is no visible ammo mag.
new pic: old ones also that armour looks much more badass than the light assault, perhaps this is the armour enginners can use? or the armour light assault can use when not using a jetpack. or maybe its just customisable appearence options and it serves no real purpose. In night battles this will probably look cool and all, but like you said, if it's a big glowing light that is nicely visible, I wouldn't want to use that armor/helmet setup during night time. All you see is tons of flashing lights charging towards the base. Snipers on the hill will have a blast picking them off 1 by 1.

might be some kind of class specific ability that allows them to take an extra hit to the head. Makes sense for engineers since they have to expose themselves a lot of the time to set up defenses, and likely will have the shortest ranged weapons of all the classes.

that what makes me think it could be a shotgun, its barrel is rather wide, it has a stock with no visible ammo clip. it does look very odd for a shotgun though, could be more similar to one of those semi auto shotguns from like BFBC2.

The gun is wide, but it has a rifle sized barrel, ([snip] silly me, that's no drum mag, I just forgot how to zoom in!,) it's all just lost against the quad behind it. Remembering from an older image involving a laser sight: same front mod.
Guessing that's a modified cycler, probably designed for firepower. Also guessing the armor may just be custom fit. Medics will look like medics due to their kit and general texturing (white with red crosses for TR, according to concept art,) but I doubt armor pieces actually play a role in that identification. Would sort of defeat one of the best parts of customizing a soldier: armor bits. And I want to look like those bad asses right there while picking someone's ass up off the floor, even if they offer nothing in additional protection. Or maybe they do, but I move slower as a result? Engineers will probably have explosives and tools strapped to them, might also have a special color scheme to help identify them. Last edited by EASyEightyEight; 2012-01-11 at 10:30 PM. |

Medic enginner light assault infil Heavy armour was MAX the last or does that come under heavy armour? |

MAX counts, as we essentially pick the class, get in the armor of that class, then pick and choose our weapons for each arm. Those can probably be customized too...
A lot of the soldiers in these images have packs of what looks like syringes or otherwise vials of medical fluid. Not an indication of that soldier being a medic any more than just being the equivalent of a "med pack" but if it IS indicative of the soldier being a medic, then I'm probably right and we can choose to cover our trooper head to toe regardless of the (light armor) class chosen. |
