There won't even be spitfire turrets, and non-player base defenses have been built, tested, and then removed. Why would there be straight-up bots for anything but a demo of massive battles with few human players available to participate?

Fully functional AI takes an extreme amount of time and resources to develop, especially for something the scale of PS2. So unless all the AI is coded to do is roll foward in the tank constantly shooting, I'd expect it to see it's way into the final product in one way or another. A possible use of this would be for a tutorial mode, where a large scale battle is simulated using AI to give new players a feel for the game.

There wont be any AI on the live servers that's for sure.
They are probably just trying to fill the continent. A continent that is supposed to house 1500 players would look really damn empty if only 20-30 people were playing. |
