Bad PR? I simply cannot understand this statement.

By the way they updated the image and it's now PlanetSide 2 media rather than PlanetSide 1.

They've changed the PS1 shot to PS2 shot, but there's still not enough facepalm memes out there to satisfy the demand here.

Why is there any argument about Dust anyway? It's nothing like Planetside, it's 64 player battle capped. The only special thing about it is that it's link with EVE, with EVE players being able to hire Dust players to do planet captures. The gameplay is going to be like the current standard, 32 on 32 in fixed battles. Adding a persistent hex based map to that doesn't change the fact that they're individual level based missions akin to any regular Battlefield 3 match.

So, why the comparison. We as a community shouldn't be shooting dust down because it's not an mmofps, it's an fps with a new way of doing things, but it's not an mmofps.It's an mmo linked to an fps.
