Given that the game still has MAXes, boomers, mines, grenades, tanks combined with doorways, AA and likely a fat load of lockon weapons i think you'll be able to do fine in the killing department.
As for me, I get better with age. |

Lol, never been part of a community quite like this before. It's nice to have people who think support roles are important, and not your score per minute :P As for me, I'm going to try to provide overwatch on operations. Get behind enemy lines and give feedback on reinforcements and what their strategy looks like. Maybe pick off a few higher-ups in the process Then again, never played PS before. I'll be picking up the first one when I get my new computer to get the feel of things before PS2 comes out

Right on! No doubt that somewhere there is this 70+ year old guy all Stephen Hawking'ed up in a wheel chair, mousing with his cheek and shooting with his tongue, that would own all of us, including my man Buzz. I lol just a little bit thinking of "Boom Headshot!" coming from a computer generated voice.

I agree. Engineering and Sniping are my favorites but I like being a Medic too. I hope I can do armor and health ups like in PS1 even if its light crossover. |

I've been playing PS1 on and off since release. In my latest serious stint maybe two years ago, I was in a TR outfit called USKTA.
It was run by a retirement-age couple. Both of them were great people, and serious ass kickers to boot! Fritts, you gonna make a show in PS2?? |

Just should point out - it'll fall to us "oldbies" to direct all the gunning kiddies and point them in the right direction in the right time. Support is great but strategy makes the game what it is. This is what really makes PS shine: everyone has a niche, even those players that never picked up a BFG9000 (the original, not the silly modern disco balls version). Can't fight? Drive! Heal! Lead!

yeah. when i first played ps i was forced to support roles because my computer and internet connection was just not good enough to compete in fighting. my ping was always between 100 and 700 and my framerate hardly ever reached 30 fps. but the game was still a lot of fun.
after planetside i didn´t play a lot of shooters, so my shooting skill may have suffered. i just don´t know because there is no shooter out there, i would buy to check on my skill. did play a little bf heroes and tf2 and noticed that i still can kill and even dominate the field from time to time, but those games got old too soon (just like me)
