Who is psyched about this? Another awesome-looking F2P.
http://mwomercs.com/media/video/rkGvP8VFXAI Lots of other good vids there in the media section, and they have a dev blog section with a beta coming up sometime soon as well. Some might have seen the reboot reveal and the teaser trailer already. The cockpit-view stuff from the videos isn't just fluff... this game will be a simulator that will actually allow you to look around your cockpit interior and activate / manage systems by flicking switches and punching buttons. I was a huge Mechwarrior fan back in the day... really hoping this game lives up to its predecessors. It looks like they're trying to make light / scout mechs useful in matches by allowing scouts to spot targets for bombardment by fire support mechs. That makes me happy; I have a special place in my heart for the Vulture and Catapult... I've always just loved raining LRMs down on my enemies from afar. I'm also loving some of the concept art, as well as the repaints done by the community. Something about seeing these mechs again, somehow familiar yet reworked to be even more awesome, makes me feel like a teenager again. Really looking forward to the beta and seeing how the game turns out! Last edited by Electrofreak; 2012-04-08 at 01:06 AM. |

The mechlab article was done in ms paint. My hopes for the game plopped into the toilet when I saw no real effort there. Mechwarrior 3/4/bk were my first strategic shooters and had great customization. There were alot of skills involved in 4 I felt (plugs ears to all the vengence haters). The ability to get good speed and great firepower into a mech the way I wanted was important, and this is more timed for canonical purists with the limited inner sphere setups. I hope it lives up to half its hype.

I'll agree that it needs more substance, they've not given us much to work with aside from the teasers. But it has a lot of promise if they can deliver just a part of what they say.
EDIT - Just realized I can't use MW:LL until I borrow my bro's copy of Crysis... and since my desktop bit the dust last week (CPU failure, my luck) I've only got the laptop to work with until I cobble together a new rig since I'm not to keen on buying another Phenom. And no, my laptop will not run Crysis. Last edited by Electrofreak; 2012-04-11 at 12:55 AM. |

After finding and MWLL getting totaly hooked , my big concern is mechwarrior online just isnt going to be as good .
No vtol , tanks, hovers , aerospace and a much reduced mech list in comparison to MWLL which has all these things . IMO gameplay can only suffer without these extra elements , mech only matches can become very boring tactical sniper games very quickly and without the afore mentioned assets there's only a limited number of tactical choices from a team perspective . @Electro sorry to hear about that cpu , hope to see you in MWLL soon . Anyone else remember the original mech warrior online?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multipl...attleTech_3025 It was a good game, but never survived beta before it was closed. Last edited by Sardus; 2012-04-11 at 03:38 PM. |
