I remember talking with a mate while at work years and years back about different base designs for PS1 (having just moved on from naval warfare a few minutes earlier

).... I really still can't somehow believe PS2 is almost here

Yeah. It looks like a pain to defend - anyone can just walk in. Hopefully you can build/upgrade defenses and walls (looking at after launch things).

These buildings just scream for a galaxy hotdrop on top of them - couple of galaxies filled with cloaked infiltrators+shotguns.

Bases themselves look good, but it looks mainly like a single structure dominating.

They give your vehicles shields.

And the CC is on the roof...which is almost as dumb as the Bio lab's Gen on the roof and the back doors that face the tower....or back doors in general.

Build a base...build a wall....build a back door.

Govt. contractors at their finest.

Thats the first thing I noticed. Maybe the bases and towers are the ships they came through the wormhole with. Thats why they all have the landing struts.

Ya know, it just occurred to me: This game world is kind of huge. I'm not sure if I'm afraid or in awe... maybe a bit of both.

awe, definitely!
if you didn´t play planetside 1, i understand your fear, but it worked out great and small map games are not comparable in any way.

I wonder if some bases won't have outer walls or if those are just WIP bases that haven't had the walls added yet. Remember that only the core structure of the AMP Station, Bio Lab and Tech Plant remain the same across the bases. The surrounding structures and walls can be totally uniquely placed and different for each base.

I wonder if there will ever be any bases that have more than one core structure, like a Tech Plant and a Bio Lab right next to each other surrounded by smaller structures and an outer wall.
