In PS1 Favorites were a big time saver when it came to what role you wanted to play, in PS2 the class system has made it easier and quicker to make this decision.
I would love to see PS2 bring back favorites as far as vehicle/weapon setup. For example I have my Magrider setup for AI, but a later in battle I get destroyed by multiple aircraft, so in order to counter this I have to take my time and change my Mags setup to be AA (with certain side/upgrades I have), which would take away from combat time. If I had favorites saved for the type of magrider I could pilot then I could just quickly change from AI to AA from a favorites tab and get right back into battle that much quicker. I would think the same thing goes for weapons side/upgrades as well. Would this be good or just a useless feature? |

With the Inventory Management Tetris subgame of PS1 going the way of the Dodo, this shouldn't even be a question. If the tech trees are as deep as they seem, and if there really are 8 million customisation features, swapping everything to go from night uniform, AI, gal drop loadout to tri-colour desert camo, AV, tank gunner loadout (as an engineer might do 20 times a session) could take a while. So, a feature like this is a required to streamline menu downtime, not just a convenience thing.
Not to mention, your outfits galaxy will not wait for you to scroll through seventeen menus and equip your VS specific, technology = magic, MLP themed rexo. Also, @SOE monetization deciders: Don't get greedy like tribes... that's just a kick in the balls. Paying for slots 3 through 10? Sure, whatever. Paying the first slot? Not bloody likely. |

This is in the game already. Check out the GDC footage:
