And to attract Console gamers, show side by side footage of this compared to Consoles 'best' strategy teamwork game. So i guess thats Battlefield 3.

So show footage of a group preparing an assault. So planetside would have 50 people pulling vehicles and waypoints set. Then BF3 would show 4 people pull 1 humvee or something.

Then show the travelling to the objective, so Planetside 2 would be massive open country and being attacked. BF3 would show a 2 minute drive to the enemy base.

Then attacking the base. Planetside 2 would show a massive assault with 100 attackers 100 defenders or something, with massive air battles and ground battles. Then BF3 would show a base attack, with 10 people attacking and 15 people defending or something.

Then show in big bold letters at the end.

Honestly, most Console gamers from what I can tell are no better than a lot of PC gamers that play SPECIFIC games. For instance: play League of legends, and you get a bunch of idiots.

Play a game like PS2/PS1, and generally, the focus on teamwork and community will keep people who aren't quite so mature away.

Games like Rainbow Six Vegas also don't have CoD 12 year olds, because it's easy to die in Vegas as opposed to CoD (No dropshotting, sorry)

I'm tired of seeing nubs who don't read the whole OP before they jump to flame, or aren't able to understand the OP so they assume it's the same "consoles suck pc rules". Fucking read it, other people even explained that in the thread.

Cashing in on the Diablo III PC gaming gateway drug release and reminding consolers how good it is to play PC games has been working for me!

I think SOE are probably doing it the right way, using social media and blogs to push more word of mouth advertising.

They should probably also do a limited advertising push in the states close to release, but definitely not spend too much money on it. The game is F2P and mis-spending of money early on might be risky.

I think the steam effect will definitely help raise awareness of PS2 and a more diverse playerbase will increase word of mouth spread from PC gamers to Console gamers. In addition, considering that SOE is linked to SONY then perhaps there is also the opportunity to pipe down some advertising directly to people's PS3 ;p

FPS MMO are the future....Everytime I mention a mass scale shooter like Planetside 2, they like the Idea.


Is only time before COD and Halo make an MMO....specially if Planetside is succesfull


The only reason I think MMOFPS havn't become popular is because of the consoles and because planetside was ahead of is time and failed......Consoles limit the max players but like I said if PS2 is succesfull and depending on how powerfull next gen is...They will make an MMO.

Especially activision, they wouldn't pass a chance on charging people each month for a COD MMO.
