If... (a Planetside Poem)

If...

If you can hold your base when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can heal your friends when all men shoot you,
While returning your own fire too;
If you can camp and not be tired by waiting,
Or being TK'ed, don't TK back,
Or being hate telled, don't give way to hating,
And look awesome while picking up your empires slack:

If you can hotdrop, and survive the re-entry;
If you can shoot - and each day improve your aim;
If you can meet with the Vanu and the NC
And knock both on their asses just the same;
If you can bear to guard the base you've taken
Assaulted both sides by blue and purple fools,
Or watch the vehicles you gave your Auraxium to, broken,
And endeavour to replace them from your resource pools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And buy 'nades for one spat of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
While online apps globally report your loss;
If you can force your burning Mosquito
To fire one more missle after locking on,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk on global chat and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with vets - nor lose the newbie touch,
While both your foes and friends can hurt you,
You shoot your foes, but friendlies none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With two-hundred rounds from your LMG,
Yours is Auraxis and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be TR like me!

(The original is a rather famous poem by Rudyard Kipling if you didnt know hope you like! Of course I was gonna give it the TR flavour! Feel free to post your own iterations)

TR are red, NC are blue
At least we're not purple, like the Vanu!

Great Job!

I love the original by Kipling so was really anxious to see what you changed
and how it would work.

Was really fun to read.
