I agree with the lack of a tangible result, what they could do would be something like this:

When un corner an empire to the foothold you get a chance for (idk first idea in my mind) take down their orbital base (something to achieve, with weeks time respawn), with a permanent score, soo it would be something like which empires got the highest score (or the achievment that come to ur mind)would push the competition and get a tangible score to be proud.

Just because the foothold is in a certain spot on the continent doesn't mean you have to push from there. Does the foothold count for a piece of empire real estate? I mean, does it add to the stats of taking the nearest point? I would like a dev to confirm this.

If it doesn't, then you can go ANYWHERE in the continent if you are pushed to your foothold. Imagine TR owning all the real estate in front of the NC foothold. I for one want the beach front grasslands and will make sure TR is sitting pretty there.

In PS2 it's pretty much the same scenery, and if you don't like it you can move to one of the other continents, where your empire will likely be in the same position it was in several hours ago.

The map changed in PS1 throughout the day. I don't think the PS2 map is going to change all that much throught the day.
This. The trade-off I unfortunately see happening is accessibility in exchange for variability. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I find it hilarious that you posted that right after I made a post referring to it.

I think it is a great idea. I would like to see them implement something similar to it.
It would be really nice if they did it. *wink* *wink* higby
