Will it shoot plasma?

Can i trade an LMG for it and roll around with a thumper and HA?

Hopefully not.

I'm already really upset to see insta kill grenades in the game. I would really enjoy to a Thumper-free Planetside experience.

Speaking of stairwells, I'm pretty sure I saw one in yesterday's footage.

I would also like to see a return of massive clouds of green death coupled with grief lock...

As much as I liked I in PS1, I agree.

It wouldn't be as bad because of the base layout, but any AoE spam weapon is seriously uncool. See GLs in CoD, everyone hates them. See rockets in BF3, everyone hates them even more.

I wouldn't mind it given the new level design. Doesn't look like it will be nearly as easy to flood tower staircases with plasma in PS2.

We did see the Pounder MAX weapons do some decent damage to infantry while still being a far cry from one shotting them. Maybe the thumper will return as more of an AV anti MAX style of weapon, with the side benefit that it can soften up infantry by having a larger splash damage than most AV weapons. Other AV weapons could be slightly superior against MAXes and especially vehicles to compensate.

As a huge SA user in PS, I'm not too worried about the Thumper not making it in. I loved using the Thumper to finish off sniped targets that had retreated behind cover or to kill Infils that thought me an easy target, but grenades in PS were seriously underpowered and the Thumper was partially to blame.

What I do want back is the Rocklet Rifle. Please, oh please, give me a Rocklet Rifle back again!

I just want my rocklet back. I could start to fire all six as I came out from a corner right into a max's face, run away, do it again, and finish him off with a little lasher. At one point I was hot swapping rocklets after the deci nerf(s) Hated max units with a passion. Couldnt have a clean fight outside, couldnt have a clean fight inside. Always some jerk who demanded more of my time and attention because of paper rock scissors. Hated it.
