Why are folks around here so hardcore serious and negative that they,
A. Don't take the time to read a thread before posting, "No! No! No!". B. Can't seem to "think outside of the box". Case in point is the thread I made yesterday about how Planetside 2 has a "crafting system". Rather than take a moment to actually read my post and understand that I was making a humorous comparison between the PS2 resources/loadout system and every other MMOs "crafting system" (by replacing the word "purchase" with the word "craft"), people jumped up and down screaming "No! No! No!". I think folks around here need to calm down a little and stop taking everything so seriously. No only are you're missing out on the fun, you're also fostering a pretty negative environment that may dissuade new folks from taking part in the conversation. Anyhow, in the immortal words of Elias, "Hey O'Neill, take a break!" |

I read your thread yesterday and in all honesty I don't think people really over reacted as much as your making it seem. You had an idea asking peoples opinion and the general consensus was that it just would not work. Why change the name of something in the game to something that actually inst there, and in the first place doesn't make any sense in the prospect of buying vehicles and weapons. It just isn't needed. And if you original thread was really just a "humorous comparison" you might have wanted to convey that better. In any case, just because people say "no" to an idea doesn't make most everyone on this forum a cynical, negative person who doesn't think outside the box and doesn't want to have fun.

If you make a post which is very long, approximately 0% of people will read it all. This leads to confusion.
If you use any loaded words ("crafting", "the game ends", "... like in [other game people are aware of and don't like]") people will post as per their gut reaction without really thinking it through. If you go contrary to PS2's stated goals, people will oppose you out of a sense of loyalty to the PS2 devs. If you go contrary to PS1's mechanics, PS1 veterans who want PS1 with new graphics will oppose you out of loyalty to PS1. etc etc People are emotional and most posting is very emotional. Depends the buttons you push, you will get different reactions. People who agree with you and like your post will have less reason to reply than people who hate you and hate your post are eager to tell you why that is. None of this is new to posting on the Internet. |
