Basically right now Im not sure whether I want to role Vanguards, Reavers or both come PS2 launch. Im not interested in Inf combat at all for PS2, so a specialized outfit would be best. Yes I have looked at War Machine, but I want to consider my options for Air outfits before rushing in (and give other people a chance to). I don't have a preference between organized and laissez-faire stylized outfits, I can have fun in both. The key thing, no matter how big or small the outfit, is that the community is fun and has a sense of humor. If I can't get along with my wingman or driver/gunner I just won't enjoy myself.
PS1 Experience: Played 2003 to 2004, started as a Reaver Pilot then went Vanguard and finally Liberator with a few RL friends. Stopped playing because friends stopped. Played on and off for a month at a time. I can't remember the last time I had fun playing an MMO, but PS was definitely a game I had a lot of fun with and Ive always regretted not coming back. Other Vehicle based Game Experience: Mech Warrior fan BF42 (Tanks) Desert Combat (Helicopter Pilot) BF2 (Helicopter pilot in BF2C, Renown Tank Commander in 21CW) BF3 (Helicopter and Tank) Operation Flashpoint + Arma 1 & 2 a little WoT when it was in beta |

Hello Metakill, might I suggest checking out 0utfit X. We are a NC based Outfit that has been around since 2003. Now we do not primarily focus on vehicle based combat like some other outfits do since we are more of a Spec Op outfit. But we do have a Air wing that we run along with the occasional armored column. I want you to know that we are a very friendly community and that we are always looking for vets and newer players to PS to join our ranks. So if you are interested and would like to know some more info on us then check out the link below or shoot me a PM.

I'm CO of a Air Cavalry Platoon. If your not sure what Air Cavalry is basically anything we can pack in a Jet that'll cause explosions we will. Specialized pilots such as you will be highly appreciated. Infact I only want dedicated men; I'd prefer 60 tight knit men who know exactly what their duties are and what is expected of them and don't need their hand held (unless your a romantic of course ;P) that can beat twice their number than 600 men who are there because the uniforms pretty.
We are both very organized on on our pre organized outings and very relaxed the rest of the time. We'll be doing Platoon outings once a week(must be able to reliably attend to be eligible for the active duty roster or your going in the Reserves Division), optional Platoon outings also once a week and Multi Platoon outings once a month with our 3 Comrade Clans. If your interested in being part of some very mobile hurt file a recruitment for at the Jet Bastard Forums : jetbastards.enjin.com |

Hey, Metakill! I'm glad that you want to integrate into the PlanetSide community and join an outfit instead of charging in solo. That's what PS2 is all about. But it's also about having fun and I admire your desire to be serious but also silly sometimes. That's what my outfit Crux is all about. We're a new outfit launching with PlanetSide 2 and are looking for new members just like yourself. I hope you'll read the thread and tell me what you think. Whether you want to join or not, I still hope to hear from you!

Greetings Metakill,
Sturmgrenadier, like everyone else is studing what little info we have on game play for PS2. It seems at this point that anyone can pull every vehicle from the getgo... so setting an artificial limit may be contrary. For instance.. if you only want to roll vany and you run out of resources do to so... then what? log out? Beta answers all of course. In the mean time SG does combined arms, so fly boys to tankers to fatboys its all good. ( ok solo snipers .. meh not so much). But hey, we are even talking recon now... so who knows. Point is, SG is not a one trick pony itself, but members can certainly limit themselves if they choose. Give our wiki a visit for more info. Pine |
