I've got nothing against the idea but i'll be sticking to my situational 3rd person vehicle camera so I can see what's going on around and not the stupid look on some other grunts face

Yes! a million times yes.
I want immersion not necessary realism I'm ok with custom skins etc
because in a world with re-birthing and alien tech I think you're asking a bit much if you want realism but this would still add to the experience for many of us.

however I can understand others wanting to keep the classic 3rd person view so I think we need the option for both shouldn't be too bad
not too bad at all!

It's a fantastic idea, I can't help but think it might take a while before the developers actually make the interiors and all the customizations you could possibly have.

As a Galaxy pilot, I want this. One must admit, however, that it isn't a high priority. Features without effects on gameplay should be very low priority for the game right now.

I could see this being added in the same patch that adds vehicle entry/exit animations sometime after launch.

Aye, at the moment clipping issues might be too much of an issue if they were to try and rush interior vehicle moddeling into the game.
