I've been playing games before the advent of the personal computer. You know the non-electronic variety of games? lol. Atari, Commodore came along. Pong, Galaxia, and a host of too many to mention or recall. Played a lot of RPGs, Davnetry, Heroes of Might and Magic, Ultima. Well and many more, Doom series, Wolfenstein. Enough of that.
Watching the evolution of personal computing, and the game development has been interesting to say the least. Today's generation grew up with it and find it normal. To many like myself, nothing short of amazing!
So when Planetside 1 premiered in 2003, a friend and I joined in, and we had for the most part a heckofa good time. We created the Old Farts Clan on the Markov server in the Terran faction. While the game was fun, it's attraction kind of wore off a bit as the game play never seemed to deviate much. Then the introduction of the Battle Bots was not a good idea in our and many other persons thinking. We felt it was not a good idea, and after awhile we decided it was time to change genres. About this time WoW appeared and we played and created our own Guild (Old Farts naturally, lol) on the Velen server. I still play WoW, although I turned the guild over to someone else. I also play World of Tanks.
So what now? Well, Sony has been sending me several messages over the last year or so asking me to reconsider coming back to Planetside 1, then recently, their messages changed to Planetside 2. Well, okay, I thought, let's check it out and see. Which is where I am at now. So, after a long discourse which I am sure have bored everybody to death, I'll leave it at that.
So, I'm waiting results, opinions, etc. before deciding whether to play this game again. Don't feel like spending my Social Security check on a monthly basis if this game isn't worth the price of admission. Okay. Enough. Take care all, and thanks for listening.
