I don't want to win. I want others to pay their fair share so that games stop having ridiculous prices on things. Obviously cosmetic items alone are not enough, so they jack up the prices for everyone else to support the freeloaders.
I play shooters to pit my ingenuity, skill, and knowledge of the game against other people just like me on even ground. If I beat someone because I paid more money I would feel like I cheated, and I would probably be wondering why I installed the garbage software that takes everything good about shooters and shits on it.

You know PS2 will have time based power progression, right? Just like PS1 had.

Even more so than the first... certs are incremental.

It shouldn't take long to max out one loadout. The vast majority of the progression will be towards the rest of the loadouts.

Nah, considering that you have functional classes from the beginning in PS2. The power difference between a CR 15 and a newbie there is much larger than anything we will see in PS2.

What power difference? You start the game at BR4 which is enough to grab MA and some sort of vehicle with BR 9 taking about a week if you're not putting in much time. MA's not HA, but it still quite capable of taking down any non-MAX infantry with some effort.

Compare that to someone who has that same week's worth of weapon attachments and cert boosts and it's pretty clear that there's a bigger power gap.

A person with weeks worth of certs will be just as strong as someone with a couple hours worth of certs if they aren't stupid. F2P games rely on hooking your players, not driving them away.

Players will have accelerated growth for long enough to max out one entire loadout at the start.

Why? In PS1 you were equivalent to a medic without the heal and almost unable to drive vehicles and with enemies tougher than you, dealt more damage and that could self heal and in all sorts of vehicles. In PS2 you got all the basic certs from the start, ie you get both an assault rifle and a medipack if you are a medic, you get heavy armor, shield, rocket launcher and lmg if you pick heavy etc. If they wanted they could have made you just start with a pistol and weak armor in PS2 as well, instead they gave us roughly 40 certpoints for free if we compare it with PS1. How anyone can think that you start out less gimp in PS1 than PS2 is beyond me. Then not to mention that you generate cert points for free when logged out so you don't even need to play to get on a decently leveled playing field if it turns out that certain "sidegrades" are just too good.
