So new PS fan here just had a question about tower/base defending. Are towers and bases upgradeable via resources to fit different defense roles, to have better Air defense or ground defense? I hear about specializing and didn't know how far it goes into the game. So are we able to upgrade our bases to our likings or do they come with pre-set defense systems.

Darn hopefully you are right, I think it would add a whole new dimension to strategies of defense and offense. Last edited by Grinds; 2012-07-15 at 04:23 PM. |

It's something I would like to see. You could have auto-turrets in a vulnerable location that fire at people or vehicles, but they could be damaged by enemies, and so an engineer would have to risk himself to go there and fix it.

Players are like resources when defending bases. Since there are different ways to defend a base, there is almost a sense of allocating players as a resource in the defense of a base.
For example, you are in a platoon that needs/wants to hold off an assault on the main point in a tech facility. Depending on how the enemy is attacking, the platoon leader has to order 29 individuals to defend in different ways. The leader might order some engineers to deploy and maintain some turrets. A group of soldiers are ordered to man the AA guns. An anti-vehicle max squad occupies the grounds surrounding the facility. Players defending instead of automated static defense is more exciting and inspiring TO SAY THE LEAST. |
