Maybe, but only if the caverns were just another way out of many to get into the core of a base.
Keep in mind that Choke points are pretty much anathema now. They're still there, but they are few and spaced far apart and no single base will likely have more than 1 possibly 2 control points that are capable of being guarded by a single choke. |

I'm thinking that having 2 opposite tunnel entrances as well as multiple tunnels in the complex and interconnected rooms would allow for significant flanking opportunities, that combined with cloaks, would be a feasible counter to camping.
I think it could work for a Cliff-face/Mountain Peak bunker design. |
