New Player Guide?

Hey guys,

So first up, I'm not a PS1 vet. But I have been looking forward to this game for a very long time, and I'm used to the larger, slower paced FPS games rather than the CoD style pace... So I think I'll be right at home with PS2.

I've been enjoying the beta loads, but there's a problem... I have very little idea of what I am supposed to do.

That may sound stupid at first to PS1 vets, but think about it; huge map, complicated UI, resources (not in any other FPS game?) and no information whatsoever on the wiki. It's pretty intimidating.

So I was wondering is there anywhere I can go for information? Specifically:
1.) What is the goal I am working towards? Total domination of the battlefield, through conquering every single hex?
2.) How does the resource system work? I spend resources on vehicles, but I always seem to have resources... And yet I don't know how I am earning them?
3.) How does the spawn system work? Can I not spawn on my squad? I seem to only be able to spawn at main base, or back at the hex I just died in... Is that normal?

Resources are gained by controlling hexes. Each hex has an associated resource. If your empire controls said hex at intervals you get resources.

Ok, so the resources from my team's control of the map go to me? I don't actually get them by doing anything directly then?

What about the other questions?

We have talked about doing a new player guide here on PSU with video etc, but want to wait till the game is closer to complete before doing so.
