The flow would go something like this:

1. Mouse left until your wingtip points to the ground.
2. Hold left control.
3. Drag the mouse downwards as fast as you can.

You may need to fuck with your sensitivity and/or input DPI for this to be practical. Also, all directions assume inverted Y axes.
Thanks!

I got owned by this maneuver today and even though I had just pulled my aircraft, I had nothing but respect. I tried to afterburner past him but could not get out of the crosshairs. It looks pretty sick from the recieving end too .

I really can't see how using afterburners to go in reverse is an intended mechanic of the flight physics in this game.

I mean come on just look at it, it looks so funky.

It's a move a helicopter can do.

Oh alright, that's cool.

I must have totally overlooked the ESFs having rotors.

My mistake...

It's not the afterburners, it's the vertical thrusters. That what it looks like to me anyways, I could be wrong.

Regardless, it's goofy as hell and I would venture to say not intended to work like that...

Why's it goofy? VTOLs have a much different flight envelope than traditional planes. You don't need rotors to handle like one.
