I played on PC for a long time, but for the past years I've played on console and it has made me realize how much more fun vehicle gameplay is on console, and that the infantry gameplay is equally as fun, unless you are playing a high-paced FPS.

Also, I think you are confusing the CCP-Sony relationship. Dust 514 has become a Playstation-exclusive because Microsoft bailed. Their partnership does not mean that CCP will have a monopoly on MMO FPS games on the Playstation.
Im not confused about anything.

At the same time it was announced that Dust would be PlayStation only it was also announced that "PlanetSide Next" would be PC only. prior to that CCP had said they intended Dust to be not only on multiple consuls but on PC too. And SOE had suggested that PS2 might be on consuls.

Microsoft taking a pass may have precipitated the events but that doesnt change the reality - they clearly made a deal to separate the games by game system.

No because like every other multi-platform game, it means dumbing down the PC version so it works on consoles.

Why the hell not, people? Why the hell not!

Playstation 4 will be as powerful as a desktop PC. Heck, the new Wii has better specs than the PC that I play the PS2 Beta with...

More supported systems = more players = more fun = longer life for the game that WE like.

Don't kid yourself about demographics, target market crap; People are and always will be... people. We're capable of adapting to new communities and play styles, etc.

The current results of this poll make me sad to be part of this community. Such limited, if not jaded, vision...

Planetside 2 would never fit in 512 mb of ram.

Apparently you haven't had the realization that you can plug your HDMI cable into your tv from your PC.

Planetside 2 is a PC game, therefore it stands to reason that, much like Everquest's console version, the console version of PS2 would be tailored to meet the console and the PC client would remain unchanged. In contrast, Final Fantasy XI was designed as a console game that had a PC client port - the exact opposite paradigm from Planetside 2.

I'm fairly certain that the idea was to open up Planetside 2 to a wider audience, not simply to play from one's couch.

Nothing personal, but this is the exact statement that comes up time and time again, and it is starting to make the so-called 'PC master-race' lose its credibility.

Yes, you can take your PC and hook it up a large HDTV and yes you can use a controller instead of a KB/M. But here's the deal..

Playing with a controller in a PC KB/M environment is like bringing a knife to a gunfight, because in terms of accuracy and responsiveness KB/M is superior, there's no doubt about that. And therefore it would be an unfair and not as enjoyable experience to the controller-user. However, that does in no way equate to the PC being the superior game-experience; it simply boils down to personal preference.

To make PS2 viable for the people who use controllers, PS2 would have to be on console. And by that I mean next-gen, not the PS3 or 360.
