Question Witch Fraction i should join?

Hallo out there,

excuse my bad english please, but i'm not from an English speaking country.
so Now my question: I watched a few gameplays, but i can't decide for a fraction. Can somebody help me? I have no prejudices against the Fractions and i am open for every of the three. So what is my focus: My only focus are the weapons. I want a fraction with weapins with a high accuracy and maybe a high damage. I want to hit the target and kill it with as little as possible shots. Please answer me and excuse me for my bad english again.

That's easy: any faction that's not NC. More seriously though:

VS are pretty accurate (and most of their weapons don't have bullet drop), but their damage drops off faster from range modifiers (I think) and have lower damage overall. Despite that, they seem to hit consistantly which makes up for it. I think they'd fit more what you're looking for.

TR on the other hand have a fast fire rate and low recoil, which means they end up being decently accurate. But TR's thing is pretty much the opposite of "less shots".

NC have the most damage, but they have massive recoil and spray bullets everywhere, so they take a bit more investment (in new weapons and attachments) or skill to be accurate. But they're also the only faction where the infiltrators start with a bolt action sniper rifle (one hit kill headshots, two for the body, some exceptions apply). If you aren't going to be a sniper though, the NC weapons you start out with aren't great for accuracy.

You are describing a hybrid between NC and VS. VS are all about accuracy, while NC hit harder. You will just have to decide which playstyle suits you more.

It really depends what sort of playstyle you enjoy most. If you aren't sure just looking at the classes and what they get, give them all a go (since you can do so freely) and see what feels right.

As for the weapons, most people use the walls of the buildings at the warpgate for target practice. If you do that a bit, you should get a feel for the weapons, their movement, the spread of the rounds at different distances, how burst fire improves the accuracy. It won't give you a complete idea of how the weapons handle (you really need to try them in a combat situation for that, especially with burst fire which i'm not convinced gets you anywhere except dead if you fight head-on against TR or VS), but you can at least see how exactly and how much the weapon kicks (they usually recoil up and a little to one side).

Cover is always your friend, especially since you die so quickly if you aren't careful (well, you'll die a lot regardless of what you do, it's just how the game works ). That goes double if there's snipers around, keep your head down or keep moving (snipers love it when you stop moving).

Overall there isn't really a "best" playstyle. A lot of the stuff is balanced quite well, so what you're choosing isn't really the best overall, it's the best for your particular way of playing the game.

It'd be awesome if there really was a Witch Fraction, though.

Vanu and TR are best because they are better at bloom locking enemies than NC is.

Vanu tend to miss the least when they spray and TR shoot fast enough that they spray thay get a lot of hits.
NC has a much harder time bloom locking a target.

Yeah, NC do take a bit of skill to use. High recoil, but damn fine hitting power. The guns also benefit tremendously from some of the upgrades, especially the fore grip. We also tend to be fairly disorganized, there are some fine outfits, but on the server I play it doesn't really happen. We seem to give up on continents that we are losing and try to crush others. People take a look at the map and want to be where we're doing better or something

Like Hamma and Shade said, it depends on your playstyle.

TR has a lot of great spray 'n pray weapons.. If you like just slamming down the trigger and hoping you get a kill, TR is for you.
NC probably takes the most skill to reliably use, IMO. I'm a diehard TR but the NC weapons are nassty to go against when your enemy knows how to use it.
VS are a nice blend of the two. Plenty of hitting power and accuracy. But the purple paint job... No. Just no.

I say try all 3 and choose which is best. You've got lots of outfits on any faction to choose from, depending which server you take. That should offset any quirks in your faction that you don't like.

NC weapons hit hard, but you'll be fighting a lot of recoil. Added to that, the weapons also have a large cone of fire, so the ones you start out with are generally better off at close range (though some of them, like the Mercenary carbine, do have single fire modes).

Overall, you're going to need a lot more weapon control than VS or TR to fire full auto. If the target you want to hit isn't likely to turn around and shoot at you, try burst firing instead.

Otherwise, the best option is to save up certs and get a new gun with a little more accuracy (you'll usually be sacrificing some damage output to do so). If you're playing a heavy, the GD-22S is good and very cheap (only 100 certs). Or you can play medic, because the stock Gauss Rifle is actually pretty good for mid ranges (just depends if you want to play a support class or not).

Though no matter what you use (carbine, assault rifle or LMG), get the forward grip attachment, it helps a lot with NC weapons. It cuts the horizontal recoil very nicely (in some cases totally). Only having to deal with recoil in one direction is infinitely better than having to deal with it in two.

If you're going to stay with the stock weapons for the NC, I HIGHLY recommend investing in a foregrip and sight. I use a foregrip and a 3.4x sight on the standard gauss saw for the HA and it helps tremendously over the vanilla one. I also use a foregrip and a 2x sight on the standard carbine. If you don't like the base weapons, just save up and get something else.
