I just encountered something that I thought was funny. Maybe I'm just hallucinating, but I believe Sony has lowered the continental population number per continent that will trigger the queue.
They may have done this for a number of reasons: 1. To spread people out on continents other than Indar 2. To actually trigger something that would make membership beneficial other than latent experience gains. The reason I suspect this is that I just ran into a queue for Indar, flew around to gauge battle activity and it's fairly empty, as usual. |

Quote positive they didn't lower the cont pop cap. That would tamper with one of the fundamental features of the game. Most probably it was just more popular than usual

No, I don't know how well your memory is compared to mine, but there's a big difference between the week 1 population and now. No reason whatsoever for that queue to pop up at 4:30 pm on a west coast server for a continent that was relatively barren.
I remember what a week 1 queued continent looked like and yesterday was NOTHING like it. Of course, I don't have proof, but I suspect and this is the type of thing Sony would do considering their past history. |

Also, due to the 2x experience, there are more players trying to gain the most experience possible, so a lot more zerging and hanging around the large population areas and less ghost capping (since it isn't doubled) Pretty much happened the last time they had 2x experience. All the fighting was concentrated and made the rest of the continent look barren. Last edited by Calisai; 2012-12-27 at 10:14 AM. |

Well, I travelled to the Zerg to see for myself, and frankly even that one Zerg wasn't much of a Zerg anymore at 4:30 PM, comparatively speaking.
If anything, that lowered threshold gives the illusion more so than I might be hallucinating. Remember, a lot of us have become accustomed to these lower pops; they seem normal after a while. You really have to think back. I remember, though. |

The same thing happened to ps1, only it seems to be occurring here at a faster rate. I don't like it anymore than you.
Besides, I'm no prophet of doom, but I will call it like I see and perceive it, good or bad. |
