Not sure if its the current state of rendering or not, but I find I loose visibility quickly on other aircraft when in a dog fight. I was wondering if Scout Radar would help combat this and maintain a radar signature atleast?
Guess this is a question for the more experienced pilots, but are you using free look or weapons optics, scout radar or combinations there of, to maintain tabs on enemy air? Even though my joystick isn't functioning correctly with PS2 I've been increasing my time in the air, but this is perhaps the most frustrating part. That and learning to dogfight with vertical thrust capable aircraft. |

Many ESF pilots (especially the ones less interested in air-to-ground fighting) will be using Stealth, which according to its description "prevents the vehicle from automatically appearing to enemies via radar."
Also, the Scout Radar will not tell you if the enemy is above or below you.

The external view is your best tool for tracking craft near you.
The radar has no elevation indicator and can of course be prevent all together. I've known several pilots who refused to fly in 3rd person but once they did they couldn't believe the difference in gameplay |
