Afterburner pods


I am a big fan of ditching the missiles or rockets, and playing with just afterburner pods. I feel they could use some love, so here are a few simple upgrades, and would be treated like a weapon, preferably with a small visual cue as to what you are rocking, split into two catagories, sort of like weapon optic/ utility.

Fuel cell upgrade

Capacity: Adds additional fuel cells, and allows you to burn longer. TR would get an additional fuel cell in the stack, NC would display a single larger pod per side, and VS would get streamlined VS looking pods.

Conformal fuel tanks: fuel tanks molded to your fuselage for increased aerodynamics. slight increase to top end base speed. small visual addition to the ESF, instead of hanging off the wings the craft would have molded "bumps" where the fuel was stored.

Augmentation:

V-Max: Increases your afterburner acceleration and top end. not normal cruising speed. The passive and after burning effect from your engine's exhaust would be brighter/ larger/ more dramatic.

Exhaust Re-heater: Increases the rate at which fuel is regenerated. A small ring/box around each engine's outlet.


Just a little something for us interceptor players to have. Choose for more top end, burst speed, or a mix.

Simple, effective and elegant don't see any reason why it can't or should'nt be implemented. Plus i'd love to see that V-Max.
