Just letting all you cowboys out there know, even a sniper has to be teamed to be effective in this game, there there to slowly wear away at the enemies health so that front line troops can move in for the kill. Oh, and to be effective at it your going to need some serious skill, so no uber noobs. Sorry.

Yea it's part of Sony's NDA, if you look at the small print, talking about the beta give's them permission to visit you in the night and kill your dog.

Wear down health? That only applies to MAXs. Standard and Agile are taken down quickly with 1-3 shots. Exact amount not determined. Reinforced would take a few more. MAXs take forever, best not to draw attention from one, he'll just walk through ten of your shots to bitch slap you. But with the others, think Halo with no headshots and 1-2 second reload time.
