Not really a big fan of NS helmets idea. Looks more Vanu, like people said before me.

Looks good. Will I buy it? Absolutely not. Goggles or death. Make it a Vanu. In fact there WILL be friendly fire happening within the TR if this gets to the store.
Could be its a method to give MLG more options in the future. Picture both factions on Nexus wearing full NS armor and helmet with only the colour changed?

A common pool cosmetic item in a PvP only game with 3 different factions. Did anyone on the dev team realize that might be a conflict of interest or you guy just trying to keep us on our toes?

It looks nice I wonder how a camo pattern is going to look on it. But to be honest guys, all the new cosmetic gear is nice, and I dont want to sound like a whiner but can we get more continents and stuff now. I dont want new head gear or weapons or even vehicles. I want a new continent NOWWWW!!.

Common pool armor is a TERRIBLE idea. When you slap camo on there they are all going to look very similar. In a game were you have less than 1/3 of a second to decide on friend or foe before being oneshotted by a shotgun ANY common items are a bad idea. I still don't like that all NS tracers are white. It makes figuring out where the VS are at night even more difficult.

I just started playing again recently, so haven't noticed, but if that's true WTF!?!?

NS helmets on the other hand are fine for me at least. I use armor to differentiate, the only one that might be a problem would be the Infiltrator, since all they have on are helmets and skinsuits.

Keeping the factions unique should be a priority that no one has to remind SOE of.

Naturally, this applies to Empire weapons, vehicles, and "cosmetics".

Time = money. It takes more time to make anything Empire Specific.

Cosmetics are King in the PS2 CASH SHOP.

A pessimist might surmise that making NS gear for all empires is nothing more than SOE openly proclaiming that they're willing to hurt the game for a little more cash now.

Really like the style of this helmet and the faction specific colours do differentiate it enough for use in game. The problem comes when you have lazily shrink wrapped camo on - in my opinion the devs seriously need to look at how camo is applied on the models or come up with some way of allowing the player to customize predefined areas of having camo on that part or not.

The issue isn't the models (apart from being marginally pump in the first place and hopefully still on the list of "to revamp") it's the application of the camo everyone can hide behind.

Gatekeeper is making some great points, especially points 2) and 3)

Same goes for vehicles i.e. NC Harassers should have BLUE on them not just small patches of yellow that blend into several types of camouflage.
Both friendlies and enemy need to know who is who at a glance.

thanks to the glorious free to play model, that train has already left the (play)station.

the game wants you to grind and farm enemies, and it doesn´t even let you know who is an enemy. and they are making it worse with every new cosmetic in the depot.

can we please get a ps2 where ps stands for PLANETSIDE?

I'm not sure what the issue is here. The tracers used to be yellow, which conflicted with the NC's bullet tracers.
