Here's the facts:
1) We are NOT in Open Beta yet.

2) We will not be in Open Beta for a couple weeks yet.

3) We sent out acceptance emails into Open Beta because we need them to confirm their shipping addresses so that we don't have to waste money sending bogus CDs to fake addresses.

4) The NDA has NOT been lifted. This is still a "black box" and there is NO slack in our enforcement of the NDA at this time.

5) Those that got an "Open Beta" acceptance email are NOT YET IN THE BETA (caps for emphasis...not shouting).

That's it. No NDA lift. We are still in EXCLUSIVE BETA at this point.

I have to say, I'm really kinda pissed about this. IMO beta has been handeled fairly poorly in respect to the community. People are in beta now, who do not know what the game is about, while some people following the game for years are not. Who would make a better beta tester?

I'm also upset about how they game hundreds access to the site and forums, then took it away. I sure hope they can get their shit together before release or we're looking at a real problem.

This whole thing is somewhat of a mess, and I'm disappointed it wasn't managed better.

My brother who didn't know one thing about the game just realized he got accepted into closed beta a while back because I informed him I got into open beta so he had to check.

How in the hell did he who doesn't know one thing about the game get into closed beta when I who had been following the game so long that I have to wait a few weeks and watch him flaunt that he got into closed beta.

For god sakes he asked me what classes you can be in PS. He doesn't deserve closed beta. I don't deserve to be tourmented watching him install the game right now and get ready to play it.

Beta has nothing to do with deserving it because we've been following the game forever. No where on the beta application did it ask you about your knowledge of the game.

I agree there it has to do with your over all gaming experience. But this is so frustrating having to watch him flaunt. The worst part is he has had it since mid 2002 and he just realized he ahs it now and only reason he is playing is to show it off int front of me.

First off, this isnt a popularity contest. They have no way of knowing who has been in the community longer. If they were to research all applications it would be in beta for 5 months.

Second, the open beta forum thing was a mistake on their part, I'm sure they regret it. But it is all an automated system. WHen you get placed in the queue you gain access to the site. Sometimes things get overlooked. :\
